The 209th Lockleaze Scout Group has been providing fun, challenge and adventure through the scouting experience in Lockleaze since 2010.
Scouting is about personal development through providing opportunity. It encourages young people of all backgrounds, male and female, to have self-belief and a voice; to develop physically, intellectually, socially and spiritually. We call this everyday adventure. They just call it fun.
We believe that young people develop most when they are 'learning by doing', when they are given responsibility, work in teams, take acceptable risks and think for themselves. Why do we believe that? Well, because they told us. Scouting is a youth movement, meaning its the young people that drive it forward.
We currently have four sections and we are open to boys and girls:
Squirrels
(for ages 4-6): Meet on Thursday nights 17:30 - 18:30.
Beavers
(for ages 6 - 8): Meet on Tuesday nights 17:30 - 18:30.
Cubs
(for ages 8 - 10.5): Meet on Tuesday nights 19:0 - 20:15.
Scouts
(for ages 10.5-14.5): Meet on Thursday nights 19:00 - 20:30.
We meet in the Scout Hut Rear of 9-11 Cotman Walk Lockleaze Bristol BS7 9UG (see Contact Us for directions).

Scouting is a global, educational youth movement. In the UK Scouting is organised through The Scout Association and has a clear purpose: To help young people achieve their full physical, intellectual and spiritual potential as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.
The Method of achieving the Aim of the Association is by providing an enjoyable and attractive scheme of progressive training, based on the Scout Promise and Law, and guided by adult leadership.
We are always looking for adult helpers to support with the great activities that the group gets up to. If you feel that you are up for a challenge and want to know more please speak to us.
